Travis Whitten has a diverse work experience. Travis started their career in 1999 as a Trader at Trillium Trading, LLC, where they worked until 2005. Travis then moved on to Concept Capital, where they served as a Senior Equities Trader from 2005 to 2011. In 2012, they joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast as a Chief Philanthropy Officer, where they focus on building relationships to generate external resources for the organization.

Travis Whitten obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from Duke University, where they studied from 1995 to 1999.
