Waleska Rivera

Ms. Waleska Rivera is the President of Danosa Caribbean, Inc. She graduated from the University of PR, Mayaguez Campus with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and went on to earn a Master's degree in Industrial Management from the Interamerican University of PR. Before even graduating with her bachelor's, she secured a position in the accounting and auditing firm, Arthur Andersen. After three years, she began working at Danosa Caribbean, Inc., a manufacturer of waterproofing roof membranes., as Administration Manager and soon stepped up to different managerial positions, reaching the position of General Manager. When the Spanish company considered closing operations due to a devastating fire in the plant, facing all challenges and overcoming many obstacles, she decided to acquire the Company.

Since then, Danosa Caribbean, Inc. was established in Puerto Rico in 1978 and manufactures SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene, or synthetic rubber) modified asphalt roll roofing membranes in compliance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Factory Mutual (FM), and Miami-Dade County approvals. Danosa also supplies all related products for waterproofing roofs, floors decks, walls, and below-grade surfaces. Ecological & environmental concerns, lead Danosa to develop an environmentally friendly system known as Green Roof and to include renewable energy systems.

She is an active member of the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association (PRMA) and the General Contractors Association. In the past twenty-five years, she has served on PRMA's Board in numerous capacities, from regional director to vice-chairwoman. Two years ago she became Chairwoman of the Board of PRMA. Her leadership of Ella has enabled the institution to weather challenging times. As a recipient of several distinctions, she has become one of the most influential voices in private industry in Puerto Rico and abroad. Recently she became a member of CEAL (Business Council of Latin America).
