Alina Shemetova

Alina Shemetova, GISP, is a seasoned GIS professional currently serving as Senior GIS Platform Owner at bp since January 2023. Previously, Alina spent nearly a decade at SM Energy Company, beginning as a GIS Analyst and advancing to GIS Supervisor - Advanced Analytics. Alina's responsibilities included developing a strategic roadmap for Location Intelligence, managing vendor relationships, leading system architecture upgrades, and guiding teams through agile methodologies. Alina has actively contributed to the geospatial community as an Advisory Board Member at the University of Colorado Denver and as Chair of the Rocky Mountain Petroleum User Group. Alina holds a BA in Geography - Environmental Studies and a GIS Certificate from the University of Colorado Denver.
