Ioannis Kamarinas

Ioannis Kamarinas, PhD, GISP, currently holds the position of Geospatial Data Manager at bp since September 2018, also serving as a Geospatial Information Specialist. Prior experience includes working as a GIS Specialist at LandWorks, Inc. and a Watershed Scientist - Graduate Research Assistant at Texas State University. During the time at Texas State University, Ioannis developed a multi-threshold model for network delineation and enhanced headwater mapping techniques. Roles at the City of San Marcos involved redesigning Land Use Suitability maps, while volunteer work included support for various monitoring programs. Ioannis's education includes a PhD in GIScience and Cartography from Texas State University, an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and a B.Sc. in Marine Sciences from the University of Aegean.
