Poornima Tekumalla

Poornima Tekumalla has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Starting in 2000, Poornima worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine. In 2006, they became a Faculty member at the University of Phoenix, where they stayed until 2009. In 2008, Poornima joined Xtal BioStructures Inc. as a Senior Scientist and later became the Director of Molecular and Cellular Biology from 2011 to 2012. From 2012 to 2023, Poornima worked at BERG Health, progressing from Director of Program Management to Senior Vice President - Program Management & Chief of Staff. At BERG Health, they also served as Vice President Platform Science Operations, VP of Administration & Chief of Staff, and Senior Director Of Program Management. Currently, Poornima holds the position of Vice President Program Management & Chief of Staff at BPGBio Inc. Additionally, they are also a Member of the Board of Trustees & Board Secretary at the Shrewsbury Public Library since 2021.

Poornima Tekumalla has an extensive education history in the field of Biology and Biochemistry. Poornima earned their Ph.D in Biology from Wesleyan University, where they studied from 1993 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their M.Phil. in Biochemistry from the University of Hyderabad, attending from 1991 to 1993. Poornima'sacademic journey began at the University of Hyderabad, where they obtained their M.Sc in Biochemistry from 1989 to 1991.

In addition to their academic degrees, Poornima Tekumalla has also obtained certifications in Alliance Management and Project Management. Poornima received a Certificate of Achievement in Alliance Management (CA-AM) from the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals in June 2022. Furthermore, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2014.
