Valerie Sapp is a Research Scientist at BPS Bioscience Inc. since November 2020, with a robust background in biomedical research. Prior experience includes serving as a PhD Candidate at the University of California San Diego from September 2014 to November 2020, where Valerie optimized genome scale screening techniques, identified novel mediators of drug-induced cardiotoxicity, and utilized un-targeted metabolomics for research on pluripotency maintenance. Valerie also worked as a Research Technician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from August 2012 to August 2014, developing a nutritional model for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in zebrafish and uncovering the role of mTOR in fructose-induced NAFLD. Valerie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Science from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Virginia.
