William Mills has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. William is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Tohono O'odham Nation Health Care. Previously, they held various senior leadership positions at Upper Allegheny Health System and was responsible for quality and professional affairs. William was also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Lake Erie College and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo. Prior to that, they held vice president roles at Medical Affairs - Olean General Hospital and Medical Affairs - Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. William has also served as a Medical Director at South Jersey Healthcare HospiceCare, Residential Addiction Treatment Facility, and Maryville, Inc.
William Mills has a diverse education history. In 1976, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from Houghton University. Following this, they attended Hahnemann University School of Medicine from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Later, in 2001, they pursued a Master's degree in Medical Management from USC Marshall School of Business, which they completed in 2002.
In addition to their academic qualifications, William Mills has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1996, they became a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. William then received the Certified Physician Executive designation from The Certifying Commission in Medical Management in 2001. In 2011, they became a Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives, and most recently, in 2021, they obtained the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® (CPHQ) certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ).
