Founder And President Of Brain Exercise Initiative at Brain Exercise Initiative

Esin Gumustekin has a diverse range of work experience. In 2014, they were selected as the only girl from their middle school to attend the Tech Trek Program at the University of California, San Diego, where they were introduced to STEM fields. Esin returned to the program during their high school years as a teacher's assistant.

In 2015, they served as a Junior Counselor at the Tech Trek Program at Stanford University, where they assisted in introducing girls to STEM fields.

In 2016, Esin attended the Reproductive & Oncofertility Science Academy at UC San Diego Health, where they learned about reproductive biology and cancer biology. Esin'sresearch project on the correlation between dioxin levels in the atmosphere and Sertoli cell proliferation was recognized and they were invited to present it at the Oncofertility Consortium at Northwestern University's School of Medicine.

Starting in 2018, they had various roles at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Esin served as the Logistical Head of the Learning Assistant Program, selecting applicants and organizing schedules for general and organic chemistry courses. Esin was also part of the Program Development Team, working closely with the director of the program to train Head LAs and organize logistics. Additionally, they were a Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) Leader, implementing PLTL in chemistry courses and training facilitators.

In 2018, Esin also interned as a Neuro/Biology Intern at Biosplice Therapeutics, where they worked on checking the molecular signature of a potential therapeutic for Alzheimer's Disease.

Since 2019, they have been the Founder and President of the Brain Exercise Initiative, a nonprofit that uses simple math and reading exercises to improve cognitive function in individuals with Alzheimer's Disease.

Currently, they are a Peer Tutor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Esin Gumustekin completed their education at various prestigious institutions. Esin started by earning a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from UCLA in 2021. Esin then pursued further education in the medical field and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA between 2021 and 2028. Additionally, they expanded their knowledge by studying law at Harvard Law School from 2023 to 2026, earning a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Prior to their college years, Esin attended Francis Parker School from 2011 to 2017, although the specific degree and field of study during this period are unknown.
