Catherine Calogero

Science Learning Designer (contractor) at BrainPOP

Catherine Calogero has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Catherine began their career in 2007 at Manhattan College, where they worked as a Human Resources Assistant and later as a Resident Assistant. In 2010, they moved on to John XXIII Educational Center, where they served as an After School Program Coordinator until 2012.

In 2011, Catherine briefly worked as a Residential Teaching Assistant at the Summer Institute for the Gifted. Catherine then joined the NYC Department of Education in 2012 as a Teacher and later became a Teacher Recruiter in 2017.

Catherine'spassion for education led their to join the NYC Teaching Fellows program in 2016, where they served as a Teacher Development Coach until 2018. In 2019, they took on the role of Lead Coach at the NYC Teaching Collaborative, providing guidance and support to fellow educators until 2021. During this time, Catherine also worked as an Adjunct Conservation Educator at the Wildlife Conservation Society for a brief period in 2019.

Currently, they work as a Science Learning Designer on a contractual basis at BrainPOP, starting in 2021. Throughout their career, Catherine has shown a strong commitment to education and has gained valuable experience in teaching, coaching, and program coordination.

Catherine Calogero holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Manhattan College, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Catherine then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Adolescent Education at Pace University, completing it from 2012 to 2014. Later, they pursued a degree in Educational Leadership and Technology at the New York Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2017. Furthermore, Catherine obtained the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021.
