Jamie Mascarenhas

Jamie Mascarenhas is currently working as an Account Director at BrainPOP since June 2022. Prior to this, they were employed at Uncommon Schools from July 2017 to July 2022. At Uncommon Schools, Jamie initially worked as a Special Education Coordinator, and later as a Special Education Teacher at Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School. Their responsibilities included co-teaching ICT and SETSS classes, modifying and leading lessons, writing and revising IEPs, and hosting IEP meetings. Before joining Uncommon Schools, Jamie worked as a Special Education Teacher at Success Academy Charter Schools from July 2015 to July 2017. They piloted and modified lessons in ELA, Math, and History for a 12:1:1 program and assessed student work to support their growth.

Jamie Mascarenhas completed a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education and Special Education, with dual licensure, from Boston University from 2011 to 2015. Later, from 2017 to 2019, they pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching Dual Certification in English Education and Teaching Exceptional Learners from the Relay Graduate School of Education.
