Thea Hogarth

Associate Director, User Research at BrainPOP

Thea Hogarth has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries. Thea began their career in 2007 as a Digital Collections Assistant at Haverford College, where they worked until 2011. During this time, they also served as a Writing Tutor and an Admissions Summer Associate. In 2011, Thea worked as an English Teaching Assistant at a primary school through the Teaching Assistant Program in France USA.

From 2012 to 2014, Thea held multiple roles at Little Pim, a language-learning program for young children. Thea started as an intern and eventually became a Project Manager, overseeing product development in multiple languages. In the same period, they also served as a Staff Editor and Founding Member of CASE Magazine, where they managed writers and contributed a monthly column.

From 2012 to 2018, Thea worked as a Writer & Content Consultant on freelance projects, contributing to creative and educational endeavors such as content strategy, video production, curriculum design, and grant writing.

In 2015, Thea joined College Essay Advisors as a Content Lead & Senior Advisor. In this role, they produced animated video series, developed workflows, and wrote curricula for courses and workshops.

Thea joined BrainPOP in 2016 and has held several roles. As a Learning Designer/Writer, they contributed to the company's content. Thea later became a UX Researcher / UX Writer, building a bridge between research and content and overseeing the company's writing guide and UX writing guidelines. Thea then became the Lead User Researcher, where they focused on creating opportunities for collaboration, facilitating partnerships, and documenting processes and learnings. Thea founded the Writers of BrainPOP group to centralize writing standards. Thea is currently serving as the Associate Director of User Research.

Through their work experience, Thea Hogarth has demonstrated their expertise in research, content creation, project management, and team leadership.

Thea Hogarth has an extensive education history. Thea obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Magna Cum Laude from Haverford College, where they studied Comparative Literature with a minor in French. Their time at Haverford College spanned from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at The Brearley School from 2003 to 2007.

Later, Thea pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International and Comparative Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. This program lasted from 2014 to 2016, helping their gain further expertise in this field. Additionally, in 2015, they participated in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at Columbia Business School, further expanding their knowledge in this area.
