Dominic Collins

Dominic Collins has over 13 years of work experience in various roles related to economic growth and development. Dominic is currently serving as a Board Member and Trustee at Mercury Theatre since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Corporate Director of Growth at Braintree District Council starting from March 2020. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of the authority's economic development activity, planning functions, asset management, and delivery of the authorities Strategic Investment capital program.

Before joining Braintree District Council, Dominic held multiple positions at Essex County Council. From April 2017 to March 2020, they served as the Director of Economic Growth and Localities, where they were responsible for partnership collaboration and commissioning of support to the Essex economy. From June 2015 to March 2017, they worked as the Director for Commissioning: Economic Growth and Communities, leading the teams that commissioned and delivered inward investment, enterprise support, and planning activities. From November 2013 to May 2015, they served as the Head of Commissioning, Economic Growth, focusing on supporting the development of the county's strategic physical infrastructure.

Earlier in their career at Essex County Council, Dominic held the position of Senior Policy and Strategy Manager: Place from January 2012 to October 2013, where they provided policy and strategy advice on economic growth and development issues. Dominic also served as the Partnerships Manager from November 2007 to December 2011, leading teams and working in partnership with various stakeholders to deliver a business, volunteering, and education legacy from the 2012 Games in Essex.

Dominic's work experience also includes a role as the Media and Editorial Team Leader at Essex County Council from March 2007 to November 2007.

Throughout their career, Dominic Collins has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a focus on driving economic growth and development in the organizations they have been a part of.

Dominic Collins obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from De Montfort University between 1994 and 1997. Dominic then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Relations and Political Theory from the University of Westminster from 1997 to 1998.
