Janet Aronson

Interim Director

Janet Aronson is an experienced social science researcher specializing in the contemporary American Jewish community, currently serving as Associate Director and Associate Research Scientist at the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies at Brandeis University since September 2009. Janet has directed significant projects, including local Jewish community studies in Boston and Washington, DC. Janet earned a PhD in Social Policy from the Heller School, with a dissertation focused on leveraging social networks for social change. Previous roles include Education Pioneer Fellow and Fellow at Jobs for the Future, teaching at the University of Massachusetts, and freelance graphic design work. Janet holds two Master's degrees in Social Policy and Applied Sociology, along with dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science from Barnard College and Bible from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
