Shirley Burchfield

Shirley Burchfield is an accomplished educator and administrator with extensive experience in the field of education and development. Currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Brandeis University since September 2011, Shirley teaches a course on "Introduction to Education and Development." In addition, Shirley holds the position of Vice President at World Education since 1997, contributing to significant advancements in educational initiatives. Previously, Shirley was an Adjunct Lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education from February 2004 to May 2010, focusing on community participation in education in Africa. Shirley's career also includes serving as a Research Associate at Harvard Institute for International Development from January 1994 to October 1997. Shirley earned a Ph.D. in Urban Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington, School of Urban and Public Affairs, between 1980 and 1986.
