Robert Balsom

Robert Balsom has extensive experience in process engineering, currently serving as an Engineering Specialist at Braskem America since September 2011, with a focus on continuous improvement in polypropylene and polyethylene manufacturing. Previous roles at Braskem include Senior Process Engineer and Lead Process Engineer, where Robert championed technology transfer, process optimization, and safety management across international manufacturing sites. Prior to joining Braskem, Robert worked as a Senior Process Engineer and Associate Engineer at Sunoco, providing engineering support and optimizing plant performance. Early in Robert's career, an internship at LyondellBasell contributed to foundational skills in the field. Robert holds a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University.
