Omar Caceres

Omar Caceres, PMP, is an experienced technical consultant with a focus on heap leaching implementation and project development. Currently, Omar provides strategic and risk management advice to enhance project success at Heap Leaching Implementation since October 2014 and is actively involved in the detailed engineering phase of Project Piaui Nickel at Brazilian Nickel, also since November 2015. Prior roles include management positions at Rio Tinto, where responsibilities encompassed metallurgical risk reduction and technology application for copper projects, and overseeing nickel heap leaching studies at BHP Billiton. Omar has also contributed to operational excellence and process improvement initiatives at Samancor Chrome and Cerro Matoso, with a foundational background in metallurgical engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander.
