Brazos Electric Power Cooperative
Derrick Pohl currently serves as a SCADA Technician III at Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, a position held since September 2023. Prior to this, Derrick worked at Nebraska Public Power District from August 2020 to September 2023 as a Telecommunications Engineer, managing T&D and Telecom projects comprehensively. Previous roles include Network Engineer at Cornerstone Bank, overseeing various banking systems and network devices, and Network Information Engineer at NorthWestern Energy, responsible for configuring and supporting network devices. Additional experience includes contracts with AT&T as a Network Engineer, roles at John Soules Foods and The JTL Group focusing on network administration and project management, as well as systems and IT management at First American Title and Billings Clinic. Derrick holds an Associate's degree in Applied Science from Houston Community College and a Theology degree from Texas Bible College.
Brazos Electric Power Cooperative
Brazos Electric is a 3,839 megawatt generation and transmission cooperative whose members' service territory extends across 68 counties from the Texas Panhandle to Houston. Organized in 1941, Brazos Electric was the first cooperative formed in the Lone Star state for the purpose of generating and supplying electrical power. Today, it is the largest generation and transmission cooperative in Texas. Brazos Electric is the wholesale power supplier for its 16 member-owner distribution cooperatives and one municipal system. Owned by its member cooperatives, Brazos Electric board of directors is comprised of one representative from each of our 16 members.
