Aruna Poojary

Aruna Poojary has over 15 years of experience in the field of microbiology and pathology. Currently serving as Laboratory Director and Head of the Department of Pathology & Microbiology at Breach Candy Hospital Trust since October 2008, Aruna Poojary oversees administrative functions and infection control activities within the department. Prior roles include Secretary at Breach Candy Medical Research Center, where coordination of research activities and ethical compliance was key, and Team Lead of the Infection Control Team, focusing on analysis and improvement of infection prevention strategies. Aruna Poojary also held the position of Head of Labs at BSES General Hospital, managing multiple laboratory functions and training healthcare workers on infection control practices. Academic qualifications include an MD in Microbiology from GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, a D(ABMM) from the American College of Microbiology, and a Dip HIC from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, among others.
