Gabriel Kapellmann-Zafra is an accomplished engineer and educator with extensive experience in virtual reality applications, immersive technologies, and robotics. Currently serving as Head of Engineering, Project Manager, and XR Engineer at Breach VR since February 2020, Gabriel has developed virtual reality applications using Unity and conducted research on emerging technologies. Prior roles include Research Associate at The University of Sheffield, where engagement in the integration of smart robotic systems and AI development took place, as well as Laboratory Teaching Assistant and Lecturer in digital systems and mechatronics. With a PhD in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, an MEng in Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation, and a degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Gabriel's diverse expertise spans over a decade, including founding roles in educational robotics.
