Jane Manwarring is a dedicated housing attorney at Bread for the City since December 2022, bringing extensive legal experience to their role. Previous positions include serving as a student attorney at the American University Washington College of Law Reentry Clinic, where Jane represented clients and successfully argued for resentencing under the Maryland Juvenile Restoration Act. As a legal intern at FAMM, Jane tracked numerous cases related to compassionate release during the COVID-19 pandemic and collaborated with the Office of General Counsel. Additional roles as a law clerk at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia involved conducting legal research and representing clients in hearings. Prior to their legal career, Jane was an executive coordinator at Heartland Alliance, managing a violence reduction initiative, and held various positions in research and support roles. Jane holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from American University Washington College of Law and a BA in Communications Studies from Loyola University Chicago.
