Adnan Syed is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in microbiology and bioprospecting. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Breaking and a member of the Board of Tutors in Biochemical Sciences at Harvard University, Adnan's research focuses on the mechanisms of eDNA release in Staphylococcus aureus during biofilm formation. As the Director of the Microbial Sciences Initiative Undergraduate Summer Program, Adnan emphasizes active learning to enhance undergraduate research experiences. Previous roles include Senior Scientist in Microbial Engineering at Wild Microbes, Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan, and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Iowa.
