Joyce Wang

Joyce Wang is a highly skilled computational biologist with extensive experience in genomics and bioinformatics, currently serving as a Computational Biology Consultant at Breaking since April 2025. Previously, Wang held the position of Senior Computational Biologist at LanzaTech from September 2021 to March 2025, where responsibilities included guiding genomics QA/QC workflows and analyzing sequencing data to enhance fermentation performance. Prior roles include a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of Michigan and a PhD student at McGill University, where significant research involved manipulating Mycobacterium tuberculosis and identifying bacterial interactions using epidemiological methods. Wang's educational background includes a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University and a Master’s in Biology from Simon Fraser University, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology from the University of British Columbia.
