Orian Marx

Orian Marx has a diverse work experience with a variety of companies. In 2008, they began working as a Senior Developer at Fusebox. In 2011, they co-founded and became CTO of FunnelFire. In 2012, they worked as a Developer Advocate at App.net, a subscription-based ad-free social network and applications platform. Orian also worked as a User Experience Consultant at Fusebox and was a Panel Organizer and Participant at SxSW. In 2013, they worked as a Javascript Developer at Fusebox and a Web Developer at ListeningToTheEnemy.com. In 2014, they worked as the Director of User Experience at Breakline Digital, where they were responsible for requirements gathering and validation across multiple state agencies. In 2017, they became the Founding Co-Chair of the NEXUS Working Group on Futurism, which aims to raise awareness and facilitate action with respect to responsibly participating in and guiding the ethical advancement of radical exponential technologies.

Orian Marx attended Stuyvesant High School from 1995 to 1999, and then the University of Michigan from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of General Studies with a focus in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction.
