Yaofeng Zhong

Yaofeng "Desmond" Zhong is a Founding Research Scientist at Breakpoint AI since March 2024, previously serving as a Research Scientist in the Physics-informed AI group at Siemens from October 2020 to February 2024, where responsibilities included developing proof of concept and prototypes for industrial applications. Prior to Siemens, Yaofeng conducted research as a Research Assistant at Princeton University from September 2015 to September 2020, and held various teaching assistant roles. Yaofeng's early career involved internships and undergraduate research at Siemens and Tsinghua University, focusing on adaptive remeshing techniques, maintenance funding allocation for bridges, and Building Information Modeling. Yaofeng earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University and a degree in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University.
