Breakthrough Central Texas
Grecia Lopez has worked as a Program Coordinator at Breakthrough Central Texas and served as a Senior AmeriCorps Leader and Americorps Member. Additionally, Grecia has experience as an AVID Academic Tutor at Lubbock ISD and as an After School Counselor at Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Center. Grecia also worked as a Summer Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough Central Texas. Grecia graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
Breakthrough Central Texas
In Central Texas, only 8% of middle school students from low-income communities will go on to earn a college degree. To combat this inequity, Breakthrough makes a 12-year commitment to help children become the first in their families to graduate from college. Our program focuses on a combination of extended learning, comprehensive advising, and leadership experiences to help students prepare for, persist through, and ultimately, graduate from college. From middle school to high school to college through college graduation, we are there every step of the way. In 2018, Breakthrough will serve more than 1,650 students in Central Texas.
