Thomas Gala-Garza

Thomas Gala-Garza is currently the Managing News Editor and a News Reporter for The Michigan Daily as of September 2023. In addition to media roles, Thomas serves as a Leadership Teaching Fellow at the University of Michigan Barger Leadership Institute and leads marketing efforts for TEDxUofM. Academic involvement includes positions as a Library Student Engagement Ambassador and Academic Peer Leader at the University of Michigan. Previous experience includes a Marketing Communications Strategist role at Automotive Futures Group and a Marketing Consultant at Michigan Innovative Marketing. Thomas holds a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, alongside a minor in Business Administration and a focus on Marketing and Sales from the University of Michigan. Current education continues at the University of Michigan with an expected graduation date of May 2026, following an earlier completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma from International Academy.
