Jee Deogracias, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2003, they worked as a Band Director for Fairfax County Public Schools. They then transitioned into roles at the American Council on Education as a Research Intern and Grassroots Campaign Intern. In 2008, they became the Graduate Assistant Coordinator for Asian Pacific American Student Involvement and Advocacy at the University of Maryland. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, where they were involved in evaluating a history writing intervention. In 2012, they joined Alexandria City Public Schools as an Accountability Analyst, responsible for analyzing and evaluating division and school-level programming. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at Hanover Research, first as a Research Director and then as a Senior Research Director, focusing on K-12 education. Currently, Jee Deogracias is serving as the Director of Research and Evaluation at Breakthrough Collaborative. Their responsibilities include conducting annual evaluations and setting the research and evaluation strategy for the organization's 24 affiliates across the country.
Jee Deogracias holds a Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Maryland. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Public Policy with a concentration in education, social and family policy from Georgetown University. Jee also has a bachelor's degree in Flute Performance and Teaching Certification from the University of Michigan.
