Drew Lilley

Drew Lilley is a multifaceted professional with a focus on mechanical engineering and innovative energy solutions. Currently, Drew serves as a Breakthrough Energy Fellow at Breakthrough Energy and as an Activate Fellow at Activate Berkeley, while also fulfilling the role of CEO and Co-founder at Calion Technologies. Prior experience includes a Graduate Student Research Assistant position at Berkeley Lab and research contributions at the University of Pennsylvania's Bargatin Group, specializing in advanced 3D nano plate mechanical metamaterials for thermionic energy conversion. Drew's educational background encompasses a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering and dual degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Previous experience also includes an internship at NASA Glenn Research Center, focusing on novel motor design.
