Rosemary Cox-Galhotra

Rosemary Cox-Galhotra, Ph.D., joined the Breakthrough Energy team in 2022 as a Manager of Technology Management at the Breakthrough Energy Fellows program. She will use her background in chemical engineering to provide support to BE Fellows on the technical aspects of their projects. Rose recognizes that climate change is a global issue and is passionate about de-risking innovative technologies that will address this pressing challenge.

Prior to joining Breakthrough Energy, Rose worked at Booz Allen Hamilton for nearly 5 years as a technical and commercialization advisor supporting the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E), which funds high-risk but potentially transformational energy technologies. Rose also worked at ExxonMobil as an engineer focused on product and process R&D related to lubricants and asphalt and as a marketing analyst.

Rose earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia, where she was also the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Her doctoral research focused on solid oxide fuel cell materials development and characterization. In her spare time, she enjoys knitting, traveling, and browsing museums.
