Marin Gala

Marin Gala is an experienced instructor currently working at Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center since May 2022. Previously, Marin held various roles including coach at Rock Life Program, where assistance was provided to individuals with disabilities in adapting to college life, and community engaged student leader at the Department of Parks, Conservation, And Recreational Therapy, where Marin conducted research and presented findings at the American Therapeutic Recreation Association Conference. As president of the Outdoor Recreation Club, Marin organized community engagement and outdoor experiences for students. Additional experience includes peer mentoring at Jump Start Program, cashiering at Albertsons Companies, and providing therapeutic activities at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center. Marin holds a degree in Recreational Therapy from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, complemented by a focus on Animal-Assisted Therapy and Psychology.

Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) is a 501(c)3 organization that provides life-changing outdoor learning experiences to people of all abilities, with a focus on those with disabilities and special needs. The BOEC has been in operation since 1976 and enjoys a national and international reputation as one of the premier adaptive outdoor education programs in the country. BOEC programs feature the Adaptive Ski & Snowboard Program at Breckenridge, Keystone and Copper Mountain Resorts, the Wilderness Program which operates on an outdoor education campus at the base of the ski hill in Breckenridge, CO and also offers “mobile” wilderness program in areas throughout Colorado and Utah. The BOEC Internship Program is an intensive, semester long training and work experience in adaptive recreation and education training over 1,000 talented professionals in the organization's history.
