Nakis Karapatis

Nakis Karapatis has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Nakis started their career as an R&D Engineer at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where they worked on government-funded research projects related to Rapid Fabrication of metal parts by selective laser sintering. Nakis then joined Swatch Group as a Project Leader before moving on to Montres Breguet SA, where they held multiple positions including R&D Coordinator, Head of R&D Labs, and Vice President and Head of Operations. Lastly, they returned to Swatch Group as the Head of Group Materials Committee, where they were responsible for coordinating research, defining strategic paths, and managing materials-related initiatives.

Nakis Karapatis has a strong educational background in technical sciences, materials science, mechanical engineering, and physics. From 1991 to 1996, Nakis earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Subsequently, Nakis pursued further education and obtained a PhD in Technical Sciences from the same institution, specializing in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.

Apart from the formal education, Nakis also holds a certification in "10 minutes, un livre: Apprendre à prioriser" from LinkedIn, which was obtained in December 2022.
