David Barnett

David Barnett is executive vice president and CFO at Brenau University, a position he assumed in 2013. He came to Brenau in 2005 as director of the North Atlanta campus in Norcross. As an associate vice president, he oversaw Brenau nonresidential and online studies, managed the opening of new instructional facilities in Augusta and Fairburn and established the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan for accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. In his current position, he has directed the $6.5 million expansion of the Gainesville historic campus, the $3.2 million renovation of Brenau Downtown Center, the development of a new $4.4 million athletic park complex and the opening of a new campus in Jacksonville, Florida. He received a Ph.D. in educational leadership and organizational development and an Ed. S. from the University of Louisville. He also holds an Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University.
