Matt Thomas

VP of External Relations at Brenau University

Matt Thomas has been vice president of the Brenau University Office of External Relations since 2009. He manages all fundraising and alumni relations of the institution, developing engagement opportunities for donors to make financial gifts and other contributions to the university. He oversaw the silent phase and public launch of Brenau’s ongoing ForeverGold campaign in 2014, which as of fall 2017, accumulated $36 million of its $40 million goal. Having first arrived at the university in 2005 as director of development, he ascended to the position of assistant vice president for development before the year was over. He previously served as the associate director of major gifts at Ohio Wesleyan University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and American studies from Georgetown College.
