Sonya Kalyniak

Sonya Kalyniak is an accomplished professional in social work and safeguarding, currently serving as the Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance at Brent Council since September 2016. With a strong background that includes roles such as Service Manager at the London Borough of Hackney and Consultant Social Worker, Sonya has developed innovative service delivery models recognized for their effectiveness. Experience includes leading evaluation projects for child sponsorship programs at Help Lesotho, functioning as a Senior Social Worker across multiple London authorities, and assisting with research at the University of Calgary. Sonya holds a Master's degree in Leadership in Human Services from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours from King's University College.
