Gary Monroe serves as President, COO, and Board Member at The Caton Companies, where the organization has expanded from a single duplex in 1973 to a family-owned enterprise with over four hundred employees across ten states. As Founder of Monroe Advisors LLC, Gary provides independent director and board advisory services, while also holding the position of Board Chair and Strategy Advisor at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Family Enterprise Center. Gary's experience includes roles such as advisor and board member at Brentwood Advisory, and previous leadership positions at The Riverstone Group, Gilder Office for Growth, SIRCHIE Fingerprint Laboratories, EFA Holdings, and First Commercial Group. Gary holds an MBA in General Management and Finance from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BE in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
