Mehul Makwana

Mehul Makwana is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in quantitative analysis and mathematical research. Currently serving as the Lead Equity Quant at Brevan Howard since June 2023, Mehul previously held the position of Quantitative Strategist in the Institutional Equities Division at Morgan Stanley from August 2021 to June 2023, where responsibilities included designing volatility trading strategies for equity flow derivatives. Prior roles encompass Research Associate positions at Imperial College London, contributing to software engineering for wave physics and developing machine learning algorithms for photonic crystals, alongside leadership in academic collaborations resulting in over 20 peer-reviewed publications. Mehul's foundational work in mathematical research was established as a founding member of Multiwave Technologies AG, where contributions included developing algorithms for ultra-high field metamaterial MRI antennas.
