Lauren Hinson

Lauren Hinson has extensive experience in zoological management and animal care, currently serving as General Curator and Area Manager at Brevard Zoo since June 2014. Prior roles include Supervisor at Lionshare Zoological Center from December 2010 to June 2014, and Wild Animal Keeper at Bronx Zoo from December 2006 to December 2010, focusing on the care and training of diverse species, particularly gorillas, okapis, and red river hogs. Early career experience includes an internship as a Keeper at the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary, where daily care was provided for 62 exotic felines. Lauren holds a Graduate Certificate in Animal Behavior and Conservation from Hunter College and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Old Westbury, alongside an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree from F.I.T NYC.
