Maren McAvoy

Maren McAvoy currently serves as a Veterinary Emergency Nurse at Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard since May 2023 and is also involved with the Sea Turtle Healing Center at Brevard Zoo since July 2020. Prior to transitioning to veterinary care, Maren McAvoy held several leadership positions in the military, including Director of Joint Staff for the District of Columbia National Guard and Vice Wing Commander for the District of Columbia C Air National Guard. A seasoned professional, Maren McAvoy also served in various roles within the DC Air National Guard, including Director of Personnel and Inspector General, while working as a Senior Analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office from 2001 to 2013. Educational credentials include an Associate of Science in Veterinary Nursing from Eastern Florida State College, a Juris Doctor in Governmental Law from St. Mary's University School of Law, and a Master of Public Administration from Angelo State University.
