Avani Patel

Avani Patel is an experienced visual art educator with a demonstrated history of teaching and developing art programs for diverse student populations. Since October 2014, Avani has served as a Visual Art Teacher at BRIC - Arts and Media in Brooklyn, assisting middle and high school students with portfolio development and teaching foundational drawing and painting. Avani has also been a Teaching Artist at LeAp since October 2007, where responsibilities include educating community-based organizations and collaborating with school districts on art projects. Previous roles include Art Teacher positions at Art For Progress and Brooklyn Amity School, focusing on high school seniors and K-12 students, respectively. Avani's academic background includes a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Temple University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Fine/Studio Arts and Painting and Education from Penn State University.
