Aja Houston

Aja Houston is a dedicated teaching artist with extensive experience in theatre education and production. Currently serving as a teaching artist at Geffen Playhouse since August 2023, Aja leads workshops focused on character creation and storytelling for high school students in the Los Angeles area. Aja has also contributed to Center Theatre Group since September 2020, guiding diverse participants in writing monologues and short plays inspired by personal experiences. Prior roles include reviewing theatre productions for USC Annenberg Media, providing dramaturgical consultation at Harvard-Westlake School, and leading storytelling workshops at TheatreWorks for at-risk youth. Aja holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the University of Southern California and has educational roots in theatre from Pitzer College and the London Dramatic Academy.
