Dan Nelson

Dan Nelson is a Senior Counsel at Bridgewater Associates since October 2022, focusing on the legal structuring and operation of private funds and separately managed accounts. Nelson has extensive experience in investment management law, having previously served as Senior Counsel at Lowenstein Sandler LLP, where guidance was provided to private equity, hedge fund, and venture capital clients. Prior roles include Attorney at Proskauer Rose LLP, advising on fund formation and regulatory compliance, and Attorney at Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., representing clients in commercial litigation matters. Additionally, Nelson held a managerial position at Citi, overseeing legal documentation for derivative transactions, and served as an Infantry Officer in the US Army. Education includes a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Middlebury College.
