Valerie Bassett

Valerie Bassett is an accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in leadership and community health initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of Community Health & Prevention at Bridgewater State University since March 2021, Valerie oversees vital health equity programs and services. Previous roles include Assistant Director and Grants Manager at The Wellness Center, where strategic partnerships focused on mental health and wellness were developed. Valerie has held leadership positions at the Brockton HEAL Coalition, Women's Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Public Health Association, where efforts centered around grantmaking, policy advocacy, and public health leadership were prioritized. Valerie's educational background includes a B.A. from Brown University, an M.F.A. from Emerson College, and specialized training in community health leadership.
