Jeff Hughes

Jeff Hughes has a diverse work experience in the IT and insurance fields. Jeff is currently the Chief Information Officer at Brighthouse Financial. Prior to this, they worked at CNA as the Senior Vice President from 2013 to 2016. Before that, they were a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where they led IT transformation projects for major insurance carriers and played a key role in defining the impact of technology within the industry. Earlier in their career, Jeff was a Partner at Diamond Management and Technology Consultants, specializing in insurance IT infrastructure and strategy. Jeff began their career as an Engineer at Lockheed Martin.

Jeff Hughes earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan from 1987 to 1991. Jeff then pursued their Master of Science degree in Nuclear Reactor Physics at the University of California, Berkeley from 1991 to 1992. Following this, Jeff attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where they obtained their Ph.D. in Nuclear Reactor Physics from 1992 to 1995. Jeff also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Nuclear Physics during the same period at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
