Astrid Boeijen

Astrid Boeijen has a strong background in leadership and management roles. Astrid currently serves as the CEO of Brightlands Chemelot Campus, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Brightlands Smart Services Campus from 2020 to 2023. From 2015 to 2020, Boeijen worked at Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek, where they held various roles including Senior Director and Member of the Board of Directors. Astrid also has experience in the cultural sector, serving as the Chairperson of the Supervisory Board at Cultura Nova from 2016 onwards. Boeijen's previous experience includes roles at Maastricht University, where they held positions such as Director of Student Services Centre and Director of Academic Affairs. Astrid also has experience working at the transnational University Limburg, where they served as Secretary/Managing Director of the School for Life Sciences. Boeijen's work experience spans across multiple sectors and demonstrates their expertise in leadership, management, and strategy.

Astrid Boeijen completed their education in Chemistry and Organic Chemistry at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1990 to 1995. Astrid then pursued a PhD in Combinatorial Chemistry/Organic Chemistry from Utrecht University, which they completed in the years 1996-2000.
