Peter Windschmitt has a diverse work experience in various industries. Peter started their career at Lucasfilm as a Field Technician from 1996 to 1998. Peter then worked as a Field Engineer at Cinemedia Systems, where they were responsible for sound and picture presentation for world premieres of major films.

Later, they joined Union Pacific Railroad, where they held multiple roles. Peter started as a Train Dispatcher/Rail Traffic Controller from 2004 to 2007, where they formulated operational plans for train movement. Peter then became the Manager of Transportation Planning from 2007 to 2009, where they deployed network planning software and trained transportation planners. Finally, they served as a Senior Systems Engineer from 2009 to 2013, responsible for developing and deploying a next-generation dispatching system.

Since 2013, Peter has been working at Brightline Trains as the Vice President of Network Planning. Peter'sresponsibilities include leading the operations planning efforts for the nation's first privately-funded intercity passenger rail service. Peter represented Brightline at public hearings and was involved in the development of passenger service plans and infrastructure improvements.

Throughout their career, Peter has demonstrated expertise in operations planning, transportation management, and technical systems development.

Peter Windschmitt has a diverse education history. Peter obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from The George Washington University in 1996. Peter then pursued further studies and received a Graduate Certificate in Operations Research from Columbia University in 2008. Continuing their educational journey, they earned a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013. Currently, they are expanding their expertise by pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Railway Systems Engineering and Integration from the University of Birmingham, with an expected completion date in 2022.
