Vice President Rolling Stock Specialist at Brightline West Trains

Ewan Bray has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Ewan started their career in 2005 in the British Army as an Avionics Supervisor, managing a team of technicians and supervisors for aircraft maintenance. In 2012, they worked as a Multi-Skilled Fitter at Great Western Railway, where they carried out maintenance and repairs on multiple types of trains. Ewan then moved on to Bombardier Transportation in 2013 as a Project Engineer, responsible for introducing new train units onto the London Underground. Ewan also worked at GTR as a New Trains Project Engineer, overseeing the on-board signalling systems of the Class 700 train. From 2016 to 2022, Ewan held multiple roles at WSP in the UK, including Associate, where they provided expertise in integrated railway control solutions. Currently, they serve as the Vice President Rolling Stock Specialist at Brightline West Trains.

Ewan Bray completed their education from 2002 to 2004 at the University of Strathclyde, where they obtained a Certificate of Higher Education in Physics. Following this, from 2005 to 2009, they pursued an Advanced Apprenticeship in Communication Electronics from SEMTA. From 2011 to 2017, they furthered their education at The Open University, earning a BEng(Hons) in Engineering Technology. Additionally, they have obtained additional certifications including the TfNSW Rail Safety Worker qualification from WSP in Australia & New Zealand, and is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and a member of CIRO | Chartered Institution of Railway Operators.
