David Olmos

David Olmos is a seasoned expert in energy storage and engineering with extensive experience across various sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Energy Storage at BrightNight since June 2025, David previously held key positions at Avantus, where responsibilities included leading storage engineering teams. At Tesla from December 2020 to June 2022, contributions involved executing technical diligence and coordinating deployments of the Tesla Megapack battery systems. Prior to his time at Tesla, David worked at Collins Aerospace in multiple roles, including Business Development Manager and Staff Engineer, where achievements included implementing cost-saving projects and managing multi-disciplinary teams. David's early career involved innovative roles in renewable energy research, co-founding a startup focused on energy storage, and an internship with the Inter-American Development Bank. Academically, David holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
