Marc Sugarman joined Albion’s board of directors in 2009 as a non-executive director.
After graduating from Oxford University, he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1996. Marc joined Morgan Stanley that year as an Equity Analyst covering European Media and continued as an analyst in the same sector for Goldman Sachs and Citigroup until 2009.
He also had responsibility for covering the football sector. Amongst the media stocks he covered were BSkyB, ITV, and WPP. During the last 12 years Marc has worked as a Consultant, Financial Adviser and Property Developer, and is a Trustee of Albion in the Community and Overcoming MS.
He says there are too many favourite memories of Albion matches to list, but probably attending games as a kid with his dad and brother. His first match as a five year old was against Mansfield Town and he remembers asking his dad why Graham Moseley (who was holding his gloves) had brought his sandwiches out with him. Albion lost 3-1.
More recently the Wigan victory at the Amex and the emotional scenes that followed Albion’s promotion to the Premier League after so many near misses, particularly the heartache of loss against Middlesbrough, are also held in high regard.
