Richard Grey (CISSP®)

Richard Grey (CISSP®) has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Richard is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Bright since September 2022. Prior to this, Richard held the position of Director of Information Security at FreeAgent from October 2021 to August 2022. Richard also served as the Head of Information Security at FreeAgent from September 2017 to October 2021, where they were responsible for identifying, assessing, and reducing information security risks across the organization.

Before joining FreeAgent, Richard worked at Curo as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from July 2014 to September 2017. In this role, they took ownership of the company's information security policies and procedures and ensured the adequate protection of infrastructure and client data. Richard also managed the technical platforms supporting CURO's corporate and customer-facing business environments.

Richard's earlier experience includes serving as the Head of Infrastructure & Security at Vebnet (part of the Standard Life Group of Companies) from August 2005 to July 2014. Here, they were responsible for IT security management, policy compliance, data protection, and business continuity. Richard also oversaw the planning, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure and security.

Before Vebnet, Richard worked at MGt as a Build Manager from August 2004 to August 2005, where they were responsible for the build, deployment, and promotion of multiple in-house applications. Richard implemented a centralized continuous build environment to improve deployment processes.

Richard also served as the Infrastructure & Development Manager at Simple2 from January 2001 to August 2004, where they played a key role in managing infrastructure and development activities.

Earlier in their career, Richard worked as a Senior Consultant at Vine Systems, a professional services firm, where they provided consultancy services in the Uniface development arena. Vine Systems was later acquired by Compuware Ltd.

Richard's career began as a Software Developer at EASAMS from September 1994 to March 1996.

Throughout their career, Richard Grey has demonstrated their expertise in information security, risk assessment, policy development, IT infrastructure management, and team leadership. Richard possesses a CISSP® certification, further validating their knowledge and skills in the field.

Richard Grey (CISSP®) completed their education in two institutions. From 1983 to 1989, they attended Sandford Park School in Dublin, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. Later, from 1989 to 1993, they attended The University of Edinburgh where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Joint Honours degree with a focus on Artificial Intelligence & Computer Science.
