Mahmoud ElKarargy has a diverse range of work experience. Mahmoud started their career in 2017 as an Instructor at Innova STEM Education and later became a Courses Coordinator and Public Relations member at IEEE AlexSB. In 2018, they joined M.I.A. as a Software Engineer and developed software for the Mate ROV competition. Mahmoud received an award for their software's image processing capabilities.
In 2019, Mahmoud won the IBM Digital-Nation Competition by revolutionizing the Agriculture industry using IBM Cloud Services. Mahmoud also participated in a hackathon organized by SefrWahed, where they developed a desktop app for monitoring water quality in fish farms.
During 2020, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Innovation Hub - iHub, collaborating with Microsoft to design a remote rehabilitation system using Kinect Azure camera and various technologies.
In 2021, Mahmoud had two internships. At Bibliotheca Alexandrina, they implemented a chatbot to answer users' questions about High-Performance Computing and extracted chatbot logs using Bash scripting. At City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications SRTA-City, they worked as a Research Assistant Intern, creating a deep learning model to detect Covid-19 from x-rays and CT scans.
Starting in 2022, Mahmoud joined Brightskies as an HPC Software Engineer.
Overall, Mahmoud ElKarargy has gained experience in software development, image processing, deep learning, chatbot implementation, and HPC engineering throughout their career.
Mahmoud ElKarargy completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University. Mahmoud attended this institution from 2017 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained their Prep certificate from Sidi Gaber Language School from 2005 to 2017.
In addition to their formal education, Mahmoud has also earned several certifications. Mahmoud obtained the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2022. Mahmoud was selected as an intern for Mobile App Development by The Sparks Foundation in January 2022. Mahmoud completed the Deep Learning Nanodegree program from Udacity in October 2021. Mahmoud was also recognized as a finalist in the OpenCV AI Competition 2021 Phase 1 by OpenCV in March 2021. Furthermore, they completed the Divide and Conquer, Sorting and Searching, and Randomized Algorithms - Algorithms Specialization part 1 from Coursera in May 2020. Last but not least, Mahmoud earned the iOS Developer Nanodegree from Udacity in May 2020.
